Mainly known for its smartphones, the manufacturer Xiaomi has also deployed in many other niches, including electronics appliances, accessories for the connected home as well as soft mobility with electric scooters such as HiMo T1 and HiMo H1.
Now, the Chinese manufacturer has reportedly launched its newest electric mopeds, the 70mai A1 and A1 Pro. For this, it is collaborating with another well-known Chinese company, 70mai.
Weighing 52 kilos, the two models, apparently very small, are armed with 16-inch wheels. Judging from the model, these electric mopeds are only enough for one person, but the shape is quite cute, carrying the modern classic style, boxy, and minimalist.
The A1 model has an electric motor housed in the rear wheel hub with a 768 Wh lithium-ion battery which gives it a range of 37 miles (60 km) while the A1 Pro can travel up to 43 miles (70 km) thanks to its little more powerful battery (960 Wh). The battery is removable and can be charged separately from the vehicle.
In addition, hydraulic disc brakes integrated into the two vehicles and a top speed close to 15.5 mph (25 km/h). The A1 Pro, on the other hand, is more technologically advanced, since it is equipped with a 6.8-inch colored touchscreen and a 1080p dashcam, itself equipped with a 130-degree wide-angle lens capable of capturing videos during ‘a trip. The cockpit is also GPS-capable, so the electric scooter can also guide its driver to specified destinations.
About the price? Only available in China at the time of their launch, the 70mai A1 and A1 Pro scooters are sold at the respective prices of 2,999 and 3,999 yuan, or around $424 and $566.
