LEVC launches new SOA platform for e-mobility solutions

London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC) has introduced a new electric vehicle (EV) platform called Space Oriented Architecture (SOA). It is developed together with LEVC’s parent company Geely Holding Group. SOA is the world’s first EV platform focused on setting new standards for on-board space, bringing internally optimized zero-emission mobility. SOA also brings advancements in modular and scalable range, efficiency, security, charging time, durability, and connectivity.

The LEVC’s innovative new pure electric vehicle platform will provide the foundation for its transformation from a high-end taxi manufacturer to a leading e-mobility solutions provider.

The SOA platform will enable LEVC to meet and exceed the needs of global mobility customers, who have ever higher expectations for on-board comfort, cargo-carrying capability, and accessibility.

SOA’s extraordinary flexibility maximizes interior space, offering multiple seating and load-carrying configurations. Using innovative design, the platform maximizes interior space so that an extra row of seats can fit into the vehicle, compared to other cars in the same class.

The SOA delivers an entirely flat floor with a centrally located battery. This truly flat floor optimizes the packaging of the front electric powertrain components, freeing up extra space for the driver and passengers.

At the rear, the SOA uses an innovative rear suspension design incorporating additional carrying capacity behind the rear axle, below the main luggage area.

SOA platform is configurable for a wide range of EVs, from spacious passenger-carrying models to commercial applications cargo-opt. It supports vehicle sizes ranging from 4,860mm-5995mm long and 1945mm-1998mm wide, with wheelbases from 3000mm-3800mm. SOA can also provide Front-wheel-drive, rear-wheel-drive, and even all-wheel-drive layouts.

LEVC’s EV platform has been designed to meet the individual needs of the customer. Equipped with a wide selection of the latest batteries ranging from 73kWh to 120kWh, combining space with a range of up to 695km and ultra-fast charging, it maximizes convenience with minimal downtime.

The SOA is integrated with L-OS, a new electronic architecture with massive computing power from chip to cloud. It provides users the ultimate experience, from autonomous capabilities to an intelligent cockpit, making it a complete digital operating system.

L-OS technology means SOA-based vehicles are autonomous-capable, Level 2 to Level 4, bringing new levels of driver assistance to the market. L-OS also incorporates the latest occupant experience enhanced by specialist ECARX using the advanced Antora intelligent computing platform to deliver the ultimate smart digital cockpits with high-specification content and functionality.

Over-the-air (OTA) software updates allow SOA-based vehicles to always be up to date, enhancing the user experience and continuously improving usability and functionality.

LEVC’s new innovative pure electric vehicle platform will deliver intelligent, green, safe, and accessible mobility through a new range of the latest electric vehicles. SOA is also an open-source electric vehicle platform available for partners outside LEVC and Geely Holding Group to use as a basis for their future products.
