Samsung’s 49-inch Digital Cockpit turns cars into a remote office, online concerts

Samsung unveiled its latest Digital Cockpit at CES 2021 that is designed to simplify communication and deliver on-the-go entertainment that means passengers and the driver make the most of their automotive moment.

First unveiled in 2018, this project combines Samsung Electronics’ latest advances in telecommunications, semiconductor, and display technologies with HARMAN’s automotive expertise. It will open the door for users to enjoy a wide range of experiences from the comfort of their car.

The Samsung Digital Cockpit 2021 combines a large 49-inch QLED display with a sound system that makes the content feel that much more immersive. The idea behind the huge screen is to allow users to enjoy a personalized entertainment experience while also allowing them to communicate with the world around them.

The Digital Cockpit displays, which are customized for various use cases, transform the vehicle into a versatile and convenient all-purpose space. One of the biggest strengths of the whole system is the 5G technology, which improves the user experience by allowing them to use this type of functionality without any interruptions. The spacious display allows you to enjoy real-time gaming, online concerts, live broadcasts, and more at a level of immersion that makes you feel like you’re really there.

If you don’t want to have fun but want to be productive, the Samsung Digital Cockpit can also be transformed into a remote office. The solution makes it easy to manage all kinds of work, supports video conferencing, and also includes tools for editing video clips. The digital cockpit interior proves that you can work from the comfort of your car with hardware that supports mobile productivity without interruption.

Several smaller screens complement Samsung’s Digital Cockpit for its 2021 vintage, including a small 8.8-inch horizontal touchscreen unit placed directly on the steering wheel to manage vehicle functions such as turn signals. Another 13.2-inch touchscreen in portrait format is within easy reach of the pilot on the right, and a final, similar-looking, sits on the center armrest for the rear passengers.

The Samsung Automotive Health Service has also been integrated into the car and is capable of analyzing passengers’ health status before boarding. The sensor system regularly monitors the passengers’ stress levels and adjusts the vehicle’s lighting, scent, or music to help them relax. Additionally, by analyzing their sleeping patterns and eyelid movement, the service can help ensure drivers stay awake and alert when on the road.

The digital cockpit 2021 gives you the freedom to enjoy that content anytime, anywhere. It does this by transforming your vehicle into a mobile entertainment hub as convenient as your living room.
