RadWagon 4, a modular e-cargo bike that carries up to 158kg

Coronavirus has changed radically in the last few months of our lives and is likely to change even more in the coming days. We are forced to work from home and travel less, while the shops are equipped to deliver goods and food directly to your home.

In this regard, Rad Power Bikes presents the latest version of its versatile e-cargo bike, the RadWagon 4. This fully redesigned e-bike offers enhanced strength, stability, and versatility, setting a new standard for what can be expected in an electric cargo bike. The zero-emission cargo-bike can help small businesses deliver goods and meals at home.

It offers up to two child seats or transports of up to 158kg.

Compared to the previous model, the manufacturer has optimized the motor, which is now in the rear wheel hub and provides its lush torque of 80 Nm from there. In the USA, this produces 750 watts; the EU version is limited to 250 watts in compliance with the law. Besides, it comes equipped with a 672 Wh lithium-ion battery, which guarantees up to 25-45+ miles (40-80 km) per charge. The battery takes 5-6 hours to get fully charged.

We find it particularly interesting not only the payload capacities – the permissible total weight is around 160 kilograms with a vehicle weight of around 35 kilograms. There are attachment points everywhere on this e-bike, where baskets, bags, seats, and other accessories can be attached.

In order to offer good ergonomics to both small and tall drivers, the stem and saddle can be adjusted without tools. Thanks to the telescopic seat post, riders between 155 and 193 cm tall should be able to comfortably fit on the e-cargo bike. The other features of the RadWagon 4 include hydraulic disc brakes, 22-inch wheels, built-in LED lighting, a mid-handlebar LCD display with backlighting, 7-speed gearshift, and a built-in side stand.

The RadWagon 4 comes in Rad Orange, Pearl White, and a limited edition Black colorway with reflective decals. It is now available for pre-order, shipping is planned for September 2020. The e-cargo bike is comparatively cheap at a price of $1,599, and if you order now, you only need to pay $1,499.
