The Karmic OSLO, moped-style e-bike impresses with its design

Karmic, a company dedicated to the production of electric vehicles, has introduced OSLO, its new half electric bicycle and a half electric scooter that stands out for having a very original and striking design.

Electric mobility has been installed in our cities, and more and more electric vehicles can be seen on the streets around the world. However, until now we had not seen any similar to Karmic OSLO, the hybrid scooter and electric bike with an elegant and minimalist design that hides all the equipment like cables, batteries, gears, and chain so that no element is visible.

The Karmic OSLO is composed of a hydroformed aluminum chassis with thermoplastic body panels, alloy wheels that support road bumps and wide tires for good grip and easy handling. The saddle is wide and long and is made of foam to ensure driver comfort.

The braking system consists of hydraulic disc brakes in the front and rear. As far as lighting is concerned, integrated headlights do not need to be charged and always remain on. The rear light, in addition to increasing visibility, illuminates when the brakes are applied.

OSLO comes with both pedal assist and hand throttle. It offers three levels of pedal assistance: echo, normal, and boost. The maximum speed of this electric bike is electronically limited to 20 mph (32 km/h), which classifies it as a Class 2 e-bike in the US.

Its removable battery has a capacity of 480 Wh and offers a range of up to 20 miles (32 km) together with a 250-watt motor. The bike weighs approximately 20 kg and is lighter than most alternative models, but a bit behind in terms of power.

Karmic has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise the necessary funds to market its scooter and electric bicycle hybrid. A unit can be obtained in exchange for a contribution of $ 1,499 (€ 1,353 at the current exchange rate), although the shipment is only made to the United States. Models such as the RadRunner and the Juiced Scorpion are a bit cheaper than this but don’t offer the same futuristic design as the Karmic OSLO.
