GoSun Flow, a solar-powered water purifier and portable sanitation station

On an outdoor trip into nature, drinking water is probably the most difficult asset of the equipment. Also, it can be difficult to find a hand sanitizer for quick cleaning on the go, and it’s not always possible to find a sink to wash your hands. The solution seems to be in technology.

Small enough to fit in a backpack, the GoSun Flow is a solar-powered water purifier and a portable sanitation station capable of removing 99% of pathogens, including viruses. It is supposed to filter water from a stream or pond and remove almost all pathogens. It is accessible and represents a sustainable way to access clean water, especially in times of pandemic, when hygiene becomes even more important.

It is developed by US-based GoSun, one of the leaders in the solar market, including ovens, refrigerators, chargers, and more. The GoSun Flow is the newest bet and comes equipped with a compact and complete case, including tap, pump, filter, and power bank features.

As with most other equipment from GoSun’s workshop, the new GoSun Flow is powered by solar energy. The solar panel is integrated at the top of the carrying case. In this way, an 18.5 Wh battery is charged inside, which drives a pump. Simply place the intake hose into any water source (except salt water), plug in the pump, and automatically filter water.

The raw water passes through a three-stage cassette filter, which then supplies clean drinking water from the other side. First, a polypropylene filter disc removes large particles like dirt, rust, and sand. Second, a high-efficiency carbon filter absorbs hazardous chemicals and heavy metals. Finally, a nano aluminum fiber filter traps and kills the tiniest particles and organisms in your water.

With the powerful pump, GoSun Flow purifies one liter of water per minute. You can get clean water extra fast anywhere you need. When fully charged, it should deliver enough electricity to filter up to 100 gallons of water – that’s just under 380 liters. Best of all, the filter lasts for 1,000 liters of filtration and can be easily replaced.

The innovation doesn’t end there! Through an additional package with a smart thermometer, anyone can have a hot bath, even in remote areas without electricity. However, it can also be attached to a water bottle to allow you to drink the purified water directly.

Using USB On The Go (USB OTG), you can also plug the pump directly to your phone’s battery to create or deliver fresh water. Alternatively, GoSun Flow can recharge your smartphone using a USB cable, according to the company.

In addition, the GoSun Flow system can be paired with the optional Faucet + Sink component, making it a mobile sink for washing dirty dishes or dirty hands. The integrated clamp can be used to secure it to the branch or the edge of the table, while the flexible arm can be adapted for washing or showering.
