FIFISH V6, an underwater robot to discover the undiscovered

When it comes to exploring a geographic space, using a drone represents an ideal option to carry out this mission. Although there are a wide variety of drone models designed to move in the air, there are also models for maritime explorations. The so-called underwater drones have made it possible to carry out expeditions under the sea without the need to enter it.

The new addition to the market is the FIFISH V6 from the company Qysea, whose launch was announced last year. This underwater drone is the successor of the FIFISH P3, characterized by presenting six propellers, a whole improvement compared to the three propellers of the FIFISH P3.

In particular, the propellers follow this arrangement: the two rear ones are horizontal, the two vertical ones, and the two front ones are forward inclined at an angle of 45 degrees. The arrangement allows the V6 to provide its owner with 360-degree maneuverability in which it can roll, tilt or turn in any direction quickly, while also having the ability to travel at a maximum speed of 3 knots (1.5m / sec.)

Since radio signals do not spread effectively in the water, in order to be used, the FIFISH V6 must be kept in communication with the owner through an electric cable, which enables it to be controlled by the remote from a distance. In addition to this, the FIFISH V6 includes an application that can be installed on iOS and Android mobile devices and tablets.

As for its performance, the V6 has been endowed with the ability to dive up to 100 meters deep. A one hour charge of the drone’s 9000 mAh/97.2 Wh lithium battery will give you a time of use of up to 4 hours maximum before charging it. Also, you can record electronically stabilized 4K/30 fps video and capture 12-megapixel images simultaneously during this action in which the camera output is displayed in real-time through the App.

Among the functions, you can record electronically stabilized 4K/30 fps video and capture 12-megapixel images. A job that is displayed in real-time on the App while the lighting is provided by two LED spotlights.

The FIFISH V6 drone can be used in underwater filming, reconnaissance missions to search for people, or inspect damaged watercraft in rivers and lakes.

The price? The FIFISH V6 is available starting at a starting price of $2,199, where you can also have a more expensive V6S model that comes bundled with 6-hour battery life, plus a robotic gripper arm.
