Xion Bike, an American company, based in San Diego, has launched a new CyberX, which packs an impressive list of performance specs designed to deliver thrills on and off-road. CyberX is the most badass-looking eBike with tricked-out LED lighting and customizable, laser-printed side panels.
The model features a 5,000-W (6.7 hp) mid-motor drive that powers the rear wheel through a single-speed belt drive. It is enough to circulate at speeds higher than those that serve as a restriction in the vast majority of markets in which the brand will compete.
With the full 5,000 watts in Race Mode, riders can reach the top speed of 50 mph (80 km/h) after an estimated four-second 0-30 mph (50 km/h) sprint. In the Street mode, the power is limited to 750 W and the speed to 28 mph (45 km/h) for its enhanced performance, low maintenance, and better handling due to the low, central position on the bike.
According to Xion Bike, the 72V, 32Ah battery offers a maximum of 100 miles (160 km) of range, but the fine print says that’s with pedal assist. When riding solo, Xion estimates a 75 miles (121 km) range cruising at 20 mph (32 km/h) with no pedaling or a 50 mile (80 km) range at 50 mph (80 km/h). These seem more than enough (given the battery capacity) for many users.
The removable lithium-ion battery is located under the seat that charges in six hours with the included 5 A charger. Xion also offers an optional 10 A charger to cut that time 3-hour only.
The Xion CyberX also includes a full suspension, hydraulic disc brakes, fat tires, powder-coated steel frame, and a long bench-like leather saddle for two riders. It weighs 165lbs (75kg) with a maximum carrying capacity of 500 lb (227 kg). The bike is made from the most durable materials for maximum use and zero maintenance. To give it a more spectacular appearance, the moped incorporates a series of color-changing laser-cut LED lights on the custom side panels that, optionally, can be customized during the ordering process or stay with the different patterns that the manufacturer offers as standard. Besides, an LED headlight keeps the road visible while the taillight takes care of keeping the bike visible to other road users.
The electric moped is even available in three sizes to fit riders ranging from 150 to 200 cm. Other features include a centered LCD display for battery life, speed, distance, and other metrics, a waterproof Bluetooth speaker, and a USB charging port.
The Xion CyberX is currently the subject of an Indiegogo campaign, where it is available for pledge levels starting at $3,699 (the estimated retail price is $4,900). The deliveries are expected in October 2021.
