Parrot Anafi FPV drone offers thrilling immersive experiences

Last year, a Paris-based drone maker Parrot launched its less expensive 4K Anafi drone with the view to balancing a decent camera and a number of features. And now it comes with its latest model, the Anafi FPV drone kit with a similar concept to its previous models, but with a lot more fun.

The drone kit includes the drone, controller, FPV goggles, a smart battery, a backpack, a 16 GB SD card, a USB-C cable, and a set of extra propellers. All these come in a much smaller, less bulky, lighter, and less expensive package.

The Anafi FPV goes from off to ready to fly in less than a minute, and all you need to do is just toss it in the air to take off. The idea behind the ANAFI FPV is to get the user a better view of what the camera is capturing thanks to Parrot’s first-person view Cockpit glasses with the Anafi FPV pack.

The new FPV quadcopter comes with a ton of in-depth manual controls for piloting and imaging, 4K HDR video, and 21-megapixel images, plus decent 26-minute battery life. It also offers easy-to-use modes and presents, effortless portability, on-the-go USB-C charging, and much more. All these features make it the rare quadcopter drone that will delight every kind of pilot.

At just 283kg, this lightweight drone also comes with two new flight presents: cinematic and racing. Included Cockpit glasses, a VR headset works with an iPhone or Android phone with up to a 6.5-inch display attached to the controller via USB. In the corresponding FreeFlight 6.6 app, you’ll find an option to change to FPV mode. Simply place your phone in the included cockpit glasses, put them on your head, and take flight.

Once you wear it, the display turns into a stereoscopic view and then you just pop your phone in front of the glasses. The 180-degree tilting camera – with 3-axis stabilization and 3X zoom – will provide an exhilarating view at speeds of up to 31mph (50km/h).

The main FPV HUD (head-up display) shows contextual information, such as flight speed, direction, altitude, and drone location. But with the click of a button on top of the Cockpit glasses, you can easily swap to a minimal HUD interface.

What’s more? You can even find your ANAFI in mid-air without removing the Cockpit glasses – simply switch to See-Through View, and you’ll see live video from your smartphone camera. An overlay shows the exact position of your drone – and if your ANAFI is off-screen, an icon points to its location, as per the press release.

The ANAFI FPV drone will be available for presale and in-store in early September, and it’s priced at $799.
