LG Energy Solution to launch enblock E storage system in Germany

South Korea-based, advanced lithium-ion batteries manufacturer LG Energy Solution (LGES) is launching a new residential energy storage system, LG Energy Solution enblock E, in Germany in November.

LG Energy Solution enblock is a new residential storage system brand that combines the words “energy” and “block” and signifies a space containing energy.

LGES enblock E is the company’s first lithium iron phosphate (LFP) residential ESS. It offers a remarkable 40% improvement in energy density compared to existing lithium-iron phosphate options.

These require strict management of cathode material capacity and humidity standards as well as visual inspection of each battery. The company uses a patented lamination and stacking process to carefully layer cathodes, separators, and anodes before assembling them into a single battery cell.

The LGES enblock E consists of a 28.5-kg battery pack and a 6-kg battery protection unit (BPU). It can be easily expanded when users’ energy storage needs increase.

The LGES enblock E is a compact and lightweight unit that measures 33cm in width, 45cm in height, and 157cm in depth. Because of its compact, lightweight, and modular design, the enblock E can be easily installed anywhere within just 15 minutes and fits even in into confined spaces.

The company plans to make it compatible with an even more comprehensive range of inverters, starting with Sungrow, Fronius, SMA, and Solis, Europe’s major inverter brands.

LG Energy Solution enblock E energy storage system also features an IP55 rating suitable for indoor and outdoor applications and ten years as a standard warranty.

LG Energy Solution enblock E is compatible with single-phase and three-phase inverters. It is available in two different configurations: a 12.4 kWh version with four battery packs and a battery protection unit and a 15.5 kWh version with five battery packs and a battery protection unit.

Users can wirelessly connect to enblock E with the LG Energy Solution Monitor app and conveniently monitor their real-time energy consumption and production. It enables the user to gain insight into their energy usage, carbon footprint, and how much money they save.

“With LG Energy Solution enblock E, we have been successful in bringing two worlds together – our R&D’s innovation and the customer’s requirement for a compact and price-effective energy storage solution for their homes. As pioneers, we are setting a new record, this cabinet style system needs less than 0.6 square meters of your space when installed,” said Donny George, a Residential Sales leader of the LG Energy Solution ESS Team in Europe. “It’s simplicity in installation and a wide-range of compatibility with single-phase and three-phase inverters will benefit the installers, too.”

The LGES enblock E will be available through local installers in Germany from November, after that it will be available in Italy, the United Kingdom, and other European regions.
