Foldable electric bike models are very popular. Because these models can be carried both in the car trunk and in public transport. These bicycles, which are especially suitable for urban use, do not take up much space in houses/balconies due to their construction. In this respect, their popularity is increasing.
The newest of these are from UK-based Gocycle, one of the first manufacturers to offer a folding electric bicycle. The company has unveiled its fourth generation of bike line-up: the Gocycle G4, G4i, and G4i+. The new line of Gocycle is said to be lighter and more powerful than previous models.
These models continue the design line that the company used before. The handlebars of the bicycles, which are folded in the middle, are also in a foldable form. The intuitive folding mechanism makes it possible to fold and stow the G4 into a compact package in just 10 seconds.
The latest generation models build on the success of the Gocycle GX and GXi and come with a specially developed, powerful G4Drive electric motor that provides a smooth and quiet ride while delivering more torque and low-speed start capability – all within a class-leading compact package.
The Generation Four Gocycle range features all-new lightweight carbon fiber mid-frame and single-sided front fork to enhance dynamic performance. This reportedly results in a 1kg reduction in weight compared to the past models with carbon fiber body parts. The G4 and G4i weigh only 16.6 kg, while the top model G4i+ weighs only 16.3 kg due to the carbon wheels.
They all feature 20-inch wheels, hydraulic disc brakes, a sealed chain drive with a 3-speed rear hub transmission, a polymer rear shock offering 1 inch (25 mm) of travel, and a house-brand 500-watt front motor powered by a removable battery pack.
The Gocycle G4’s removable powerful Lithium-Ion battery is seamlessly integrated into the G4’s hydroformed aluminum frame. It provides a range of up to 40 miles (65km) for the G4 and up to 50 miles (80km) for the G4i (depending on pedal input) with 3.5 hours of fast charging now standard across the entire range from Gocycle’s new 4A 36V Charger.
Other features include a fully-integrated USB port, new high-performance MotoGP-inspired tires, and Bluetooth Low Energy smartphone connectivity. The motor delivers a top pedal-assisted speed of 20 mph (32 km/h) and 15.5 mph (25 km/h) in Europe with more torque and power.
The Gocycle G4, G4i, and G4i+ are all available now, at the cost of $3,999, $4,999, and $5,999, respectively.
