EV Mobility’s LEF is a 3-wheeled halfway between an e-bike and electric car

E-mobility is advancing thanks to ever better technology, such as stronger and more efficient batteries. The electric drive is not only installed in cars, but also in almost all other means of transport. E-bikes and e-scooters, in particular, have experienced an enormous boom in recent years.

Now, a Netherlands-based EV mobility has introduced a three-wheeled, fully-enclosed LEF electric vehicle for one passenger. The vehicle promises to be enough to move around the city, with greater comfort than an electric bike, but without the inconvenience and costs of a larger car.

The 100% electrically powered vehicle has a cabin covered by the unique movable windshield, which keeps you always dry and out of the wind. Once inside, its handling is similar to that of a car since it has an accelerator pedal and a brake pedal. It leaves a space for a 50-liter (13-gal) cargo area behind the seatback, which folds forward for access.

The main body of LEF is made of recyclable polyethylene, which lightens its weight so that it does not exceed 90 kg. It can handle a maximum payload of 200 kg. In traffic, the LEF is equated with the bicycle in terms of parking, so you can park on the sidewalk or in the bicycle shed.

The LEF is powered by a 1,000-watt motor in one of its rear wheels, which is in turn powered by a 10-Ah/48-volt lithium battery. The battery can be charged from a regular household outlet and allows the electric car to travel about 30 km (19 miles) on a single charge. Optionally, you can purchase a 20 Ah or 30 Ah battery that multiplies this autonomy by two and three. The maximum speed it can reach is 25 km/h (16 mph).

Inside, it includes an LCD screen that shows the most important data on the vehicles’ status, such as the battery charge level and travel parameters such as speed and distance traveled. Other features include a set of side mirrors and an electric windshield wiper, front and rear LED lighting, including turn signals, USB port for charging smartphones.

LEF is available in seven colors. It can currently be purchased for a price between €3,100 to €4,380. But if you want to rent it, it has a €25 daily cost with a €500 deposit.
