German luxury and commercial vehicle automobile company Mercedes-Benz has unveiled its EQE 500 4MATIC SUV in India. After the EQB and the EQS, the EQE is the Mercedes-Benz’s third electric vehicle in India.
The Mercedes-Benz EQE series was launched in the US last year. Now in India, they’ve launched only a higher-specs version of that series, which has mostly the same features and specifications.
The EQE 500 4MATIC uses a new all-electric platform. It is combined with dual motors – front and rear axle permanently excited synchronous motors with a total output of 300 kW and a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 90.6 kWh and a range of up to 550 km (341 miles).
The motors produce 408hp and 858Nm, allowing it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0- 60 mph) in a claimed time of 4.9 seconds, and The EQE 500 4MATIC has a top speed of 210 km/h (130 mph). The SUV also boasts the OFFROAD program for off-road driving.
The SUV comes with an 11kW AC charger and can support up to 170kW of DC fast charging. In some instances, the innovative battery management software developed in-house allows updates over the air (OTA).
The Mercedes Benz EQE 500 4MATIC measures 191.5 inches long, 84.3 inches wide with mirrors, and 66.3 inches high and weighs around 5,665 lbs (2569kg). The permissible trailer load for the 4MATIC models with all-wheel drive is 3500 lbs (1587 kg).
The EQE SUV comes with 20-inch wheels and air suspension that can raise the ride height of the SUV by 1 inch.
In addition, the EQE SUV includes Active Brake Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, and a Parking Package with Surround View System. The Assistant Display in the driver’s display shows system status and activity in full screen.
Another equipment highlight is the Energizing Air Control Plus, and a High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter cleans incoming air at its highest filtration level. Energizing Comfort integrates the various comfort systems in the vehicle. It increases physical comfort and efficiency while driving and during breaks.
The car’s interior is also integrated with Dolby Atmos, part of the standard 15-speaker Burmester 3D sound system, which takes the audio experience in the EQE SUV to a new level. Additionally, the SUV interior features a head-up display, MBUX hyperscreen, and ambient lighting.
Moreover, EQE SUV include DIGITAL Light Custom Animations, part of the DIGITAL Light System. In addition to Digital Rain and Brand World, customers can choose the following welcome and goodbye animations.
Additionally, Mercedes will offer the EQE 500 4matic SUV with a 10-year warranty on the battery. The Mercedes-Benz EQE 500 4matic SUV is priced at Rs 1.39 crore (ex-showroom) in India.
