Juniper Systems has launched Mesa Pro, the world’s first IP68-rated rugged tablet with active cooling. This tablet is designed to withstand harsh environments for consistently reliable performance.
Juniper Systems is a maker of ultra-rugged tablets, handheld computers, GPS receivers, mapping software, and field computing solutions.
Ingress Protection (IP) ratings are used in the electronics industry to rate the protection a device has against solids and liquids that can compromise the internal systems of the device. A rating of 6 means dust, sand, rocks, etc. It has the highest protection against solids like 8 is the rating against liquid ingress, including dripping, splashing, and submersion. The Mesa Pro is rated and capable of being submerged at one meter for 45 minutes.
Mesa Pro is a configurable tablet capable of replacing traditional laptops. It has a 10 inches LCD protected by Dragontrail High Ion-Exchange (HIE) cover glass for excellent impact and scratch resistance. The touch screen of this laptop is very capable of multi-touch, and you can use it with gloves on, a small tip stylus, and even in wet conditions.
The tablet comes with a Windows 11 operating system powered by Intel 11th Generation i5 Core, i7 Core, or Celeron as your preference. The tablet has two RAM options- 16 GB LPDDR4X RAM (i7 and i5 models) and 8 GB LPDDR4X RAM (Celeron model). You will get the RAM according to the processor. Also, it has storage options of 256 GB PCIe (standard), 512 GB PCIe (optional upgrade),1 TB PCIe (optional upgrade), and MicroSD expandable storage of up to 1 TB. As per your use cases, you can customize the tablet with Intel Iris Xe Graphics and Intel UHD Graphics for 11th Gen Intel Processors.
Mesa Pro tablet is 11.2 inches wide, 7.7 inches high, and 1.2 inches broad, and it weighs 3.4 lbs (1.76kg), depending upon battery configuration. It is powered by a 43.2 Whr removable Li-Ion battery that can be easily changeable. The tablet supports wireless connectivity of 4G, WI-FI, and Bluetooth 5.1.
The tablet is made for industrial use; therefore, it has integrated multiple ports, including a 19V DC power input jack, USB Type-C, two USB 3.1, 3.5 mm audio jack, Optional RS-232 9-Pin D-Sub connectors with 5V DC or 12V DC power output, Loud output speaker for noisy environments, Digital microphone input.
Mesa Pro supports many accessories like a Standard removable battery, AC wall charger with an international plug kit, a Capacitive small-tip stylus w/tether, Quick, Start Guide, Hand strap, and Connector port dust cover.
Juniper Systems Mesa Pro tablet has a lot of security standard certifications, and many features from Juniper Rugged are also integrated with this tablet.
