California-based electric vehicle manufacturer, Lucid Group, has announced the launch of Lucid Vehicle Accessories, an expanding line of accessories that serve as a stylish complement to the entire Lucid Air vehicle lineup. Included in Lucid Vehicle Accessories is the Lucid Connected Home Charging Station, the first step into the company’s future energy ecosystem. The company’s first at-home wall charger allows owners to maximize the industry-leading charging capabilities of Lucid Air, adding up to 80 miles (128 km) of range per hour of charging.
Lucid’s convenient home EV charging system can support up to 19.2 kW of electrical power, enabling charging of up to 80 miles (128 km) per hour to match Lucid Air’s industry-leading fast AC charging rate. The home charging station will effectively double the rate at which the Lucid Air can be charged when installed at full power compared to the included charging cable. It connects to the vehicle with a lightweight 24-foot charging cable designed to be thinner than those of competitors to improve the home charging experience.
The compact new system is encapsulated in an elegant black casing built to be wall-mounted either indoors or outdoors. The unit is fitted with the hardware needed for bidirectional charging and is Wi-Fi enabled for future over-the-air updates.
The Lucid Connect Home Charging Station is available for order in limited quantities at the price of $1,200 before ramping up wider availability in 2023.
In addition to the at-home EV charging system, Lucid has designed the sleek Lucid Air Cargo Capsule that provides the utility of a roof box while optimizing the aerodynamics of Lucid Air to help maximize range. The $2,000 rooftop capsule adds 11.47 cubic feet (325 L) of cargo space to Lucid Air’s class-leading 32.5 cubic feet of interior cargo space.
The spacious and streamlined capsule, composed of a sculpted ABS shell, can be opened from either side of the vehicle for easy access to the additional storage space. It also offers interior lighting for visibility in low-light environments.
There are the new Lucid Air Crossbars ($500) that add a sturdy and sleek aluminum rack to the EV’s roof capable of supporting up to 165 lb (75 kg) of gear. The crossbars are compatible with Yakima’s system of bike, kayak, and surfboard mounts.
And finally, the new $250 All-Weather Mats floor mats are composed of a heavy-duty thickness to hold up through any season. All mats are non-slip and waterproof and will do nothing for aerodynamics but will keep the car‘s original interior nice and clean. Lucid All-Weather Mats mirror Lucid Air interior options are available in four distinct colors: Ceramic, Graphite, Saddle, and Black. Floor Mats will be available as a three-piece set.
The full range of Lucid accessories can be ordered now and is expected to be available in Q4 2022, with the Cargo Capsule available in early 2023.
