Ariel Rider Grizzly, an electric moped with dual-motor, dual-battery

In recent months, electric bikes have become a very interesting option to get around the city. But can a model prepared for city circulation make sense to be solutions aimed at adventure?

Ariel Rider has managed to combine the advantages offered by an urban model with everything you need to be able to get off the asphalt. As a result, a unique alternative has been available on the market. The company has presented the new Ariel Rider Grizzly electric moped, a beefy, moped-styled full-suspension e-bike with dual batteries for monster range, and ground-breaking dual motor technology for exceptional off-road capability.

The new revolutionary full-suspension frame and puncture resistant tires are perfect for any adventure seekers looking to take on the unbeaten path.

Everything about the Ariel Rider Grizzly electric moped seems to be designed for adventure. This particular model sits on a pair of 20-inch fat tires wrapped around 750W continuous motors that each put out 1,500W of peak power. Ariel Rider also announces a torque of 80 Nm.

Despite an empty weight of 47 kg, the top speed exceeds 30 mph (48 km/h) whether you run the bike off its half-twist motorcycle-style throttle or in cadence-sensing pedal-assist mode. Either way, thanks to its chunky wheels, this electric bike is well-designed enough to tackle rough or steep trails. However, it should be noted that, initially, it is limited to 20 mph (32 km/h) by a purely legal provision.

In terms of autonomy, thanks to the inclusion of 2 different batteries, the maximum range has been extended to 75 miles (121 km), a very interesting figure considering the market for this product. And if you keep it in the pedal-assist mode, we’d guess that figure should get a lot higher.

Halfway between cycling and motorbike, the machine was designed to withstand the toughest terrains. Its 6061 aluminum frame is not only light but also strong enough to support up to two people. The optional long saddle is large enough to accommodate 2 riders, and don’t forget about the standard footpegs for the rear passenger.

Regardless of your speed, weight or momentum, your Tektro Hydraulic Disc Brakes are designed to perform under the most extreme conditions. Besides, the rear battery on the Grizzly is equipped with a built-in brake light.

Ariel Rider Grizzly is currently available for pre-order, and the first deliveries are expected to take place next February. It is currently available for purchase for $3,299.
