In fact, 90% of case studies show that teeth brushing is not done correctly. Recommendations made by health professionals are similar from country to country. Teeth should be brushed for 2 to 3 minutes twice a day. However, it is now possible to brush your teeth effectively in 10 seconds instead of 2 minutes.
Last year, the French company FasTeesH started selling a Y-Brush toothbrush that cleans all of your teeth in just 10 seconds. Now, a year later, in the framework of the electronics fair CES 2021, the toothbrush is back. Developed in close collaboration with dentists for more than four years, Y-Brush is the next generation electric toothbrush able to brush teeth efficiently in only 10 seconds.
Unlike your manual or electric toothbrush, Y-Brush’s patented technology automatically cleans all of your teeth in-depth, for children and adults alike. Y-Brush features a flexible gum shield lined with nylon bristles on one side, attached to a square power base.
The way Y-Brush works is similar to the way a regular electric toothbrush works. Instead of moving the tiny head of a toothbrush from tooth per tooth over the course of 2 minutes, the device brushes all of the top teeth simultaneously for 5 seconds and then the bottom for 5 seconds. The Y-Brush resembles a sports mouthguard packed with nylon bristles. The motor inside the small trapezoidal handle conveys vibrations to a nylon bristle brush, which in turn moves to efficiently clean the teeth, gums, and gum line at once in the upper or lower part of the mouth.
Unlike silicone strips and other materials which have been tested, nylon bristles are fine enough to reach in between the teeth, thus producing a deep clean and careful elimination of dental plaque. The brushes are very flexible, and therefore adaptable to all jaw shapes, allowing for complete coverage of all of the teeth.
The Y-Brush allows the choice of 3 different vibration modes to adapt to all oral sensitivities: soft (15 seconds), normal (10 seconds), and intense (5 seconds), and it comes with a charging stand. The battery is rechargeable, and a full charge can last up to 3 months. The interchangeable support can be shared between multiple people of the same home, and it is recommended to change the brush head every six months.
The company has sold Y-Brush in more than 100 countries since its launch. The basic Y-Brush kit costs $125 and includes a handle, brush, USB charger, toothpaste applicator, and a storage container for two brushes.
