Transforming EV pods designed as a smart mobility solution

The automotive industry is undergoing s rapid transformation, thanks to the rapid advancement in the technologies such as autonomous driving, e-car, networking, and more. The new Arrival Chemie is a true example of a minimalist future that will revolve around simplicity, function, and of course, the human bond.

The modular EV concept comes in three variants built to connect to each other in order to provide a variety of options that would suit the occupants’ needs.

The concept was designed by Korean designer Bumsoo Kim, who imagines the Arrival Chemie as a solution that will help humans connect with each other more in the future. The autonomous pod-like vehicle will have minimalistic yet comfortable interiors with the ability to open up and connect to another couple of such vehicles for a cohesive approach when parked.

The Arrival car comes in three different forms: Chemie A, Chemie B, and Chemie C. The Chemie A has a triangular shape and is the smallest one out of the fleet with some incredible features. It can transform its rear into a ladder and lift its windshield to extend the rooftop, allowing passengers to use the roof as extra space when needed. The vehicle’s lounge-like seats will encapsulate the two riders in comfort and luxury. At the rear, there is a cargo space for hauling luggage or turning into a makeshift ladder to access the roof when in connected mode with other Chemie cars.

The second Chemie B is larger, having some room inside that can be used as a relaxation area. Like Chemie A, this EV can too lift up its windshield to provide more space. Lastly, there is the more technology-laden pod for entertainment called Form C, which stands out the most since it sports a futuristic look. It doesn’t have a windshield; instead, it has a big sliding door. The design makes it ideal for cargo transportation.

All these three vehicles will be wirelessly charged onboard specially designed charging stations. They can operate independently or in combination with other pods. The concept helps reduce operational costs and traffic and increases passenger comfort. The Arrival Chemie currently exists just as a design; however, it’s an interesting idea that could possibly come to life in the future.
