The electric transition increasingly involves the two-wheeler market as well. Tacita, an Italian company, specialized in the production of electric road and off-road motorcycles, has launched the first of its new models planned for 2020.
Tacita presents T-Cruise Urban, a real custom, designed for all those who love using the bike for long distances. It has sufficient autonomy to travel both in town and on the road for short trips. This cruiser is a continuation of the T-Cruise concept that was presented at AIMExpo two years ago.
The model uses new Generation 2 engine and will be available in four different power levels: 11 kW (15 hp) and 60 Nm of torque, 27 kW (36.2 hp) and 60 Nm of torque, 34 kW (45.6 hp) and 85 Nm of torque and 44 kW (59 hp) with torque of 100 Nm.
There are two lithium-ion battery packs available: one of 18 kWh, for a range of up to 220 km (137 miles) – the 44 kW motor version is only available with this battery pack. And the second one is a medium size 9kWh version, capable of guaranteeing 112 km (70 miles).
Especially, the T-Cruise Urban is equipped with a TACITA 5 speed gearbox technology that reduces engine overheating and optimizes electricity consumption. Also, with the push of a button, you can activate the regenerative engine braking that allows recharging the battery when decelerating.
In addition to all these features, the T-Cruise Urban offers much driving comfort thanks to a low saddle and the platforms that can be configured in different positions. The seat comes standard with a handmade in Italy nautical eco-leather with memory double foam that gives the electric cruiser a unique seating experience while preserving the environment.
Pricing for the T-Cruise Urban will start at 11,962 Euro for the 9 kWh version and reaches 19,252 euros for the 44 kWh full power – when the bikes go on sale. Pre-orders are also open, but there is no word on an official release date yet.
