Segway-Ninebot adds new eMopeds and eScooters in its catalog

Segway-Ninebot has announced at CES 2020 in Las Vegas that it will present its new electric motorcycles, the eScooter, and the eMoped. A few years ago, Segway was acquired by the Chinese company Ninebot, another company specializing in personal self-balancing transport, and over time it has been incorporating other electric vehicles into its catalog. Without going any further, at the SEMA Show 2019 in Las Vegas, it presented two electric motorcycles, the Segway-Ninebot X160 and X260.

Now, facing the next CES that will take place in January, the corporation prepares two new bikes to add to its catalog. The products are – an ‘‘eMoped’’ (electric moped), somewhat smaller, cheaper, and with less autonomy and ‘‘eScooter’’ (electric scooter), the largest and the one that most resembles a conventional motorcycle. These two urban vehicles can be used to move around the city without polluting and in an environmentally friendly way.

The eMoped stands out for being very compact and lightweight, weighing less than 55 kg. It reaches a maximum speed of 25 km/h (15.5 mph), and its autonomy varies depending on the model. There are three versions, C40, C60, and C80, with autonomies of up to 45 km (28 miles), up to 65 km (40 miles), and up to 85 km (53 miles), respectively. All three versions are equipped with 48V brushless motors, with a rated power of 400w, peak torque of 54 Nm.

The eScooter, meanwhile, is larger and heavier than its younger brother, and also offers higher performance. It will arrive in five versions, E80C, E90, E100, E125, and E200P, with maximum speeds ranging from 50 km/h (31 mph) to 100 km/h (62 mph), and with autonomies between 90 km (56 miles) and 200 km (124 miles) and an acceleration time of 0-40km/h for 3 seconds.

It has a front disc brake, a rear drum brake, and a shock-absorbing mid-mounted shock absorption design.

What’sWhat’s more? Both eMoped and eScooter will offer intelligent functions; for instance, it will be possible to lock and unlock keyless vehicles using NFC. Also, they have an anti-theft system that allows GPS tracking and connects to the Segway-Ninebot app.

Another feature of this electric moped and scooter is that both vehicles offer many customization options, a particularly attractive detail for young audiences. The vehicle is IPX5 waterproof, and the battery IPX7 is waterproof.

All versions of eMoped and some of eScooter are already on sale in China. The prices of the electric moped start from 3999 yuan, while those of the scooter is 4799 yuan – so they are very economical.
