The future of urban mobility seems that it will not only be electric but will also be airborne.
Pantuo Aviation has unveiled the PANTALA Concept H, a sleek-looking flying taxi concept that looks like the Lilium’s ducted fan eVTOL aircraft but promises to hit faster cruise speeds.
PANTALA Concept H is an electric vertical take-off and landing manned aircraft with the large diameter distributed electric ducted fans replace rotors in traditional helicopters and open propellers of current generation eVTOLs. These fans provide tremendous thrust reserve and maneuverability during hover, greatly reduce noise during operation, and provide passengers with an enhanced level of safety.
The aircraft uses lithium-ion batteries and is equipped with 22 large-diameter ducted electric fans spread over two large rows instead of open propellers. Its innovative tilting wing propulsion system allows the aircraft to switch flight modes more accurately and conveniently. The clean aerodynamics shape enables high-speed cruising and ultra-long range.
The PANTALA Concept H will have a range of up to 250 km (155 miles) and will be able to reach speeds of more than 300 km/h (186 mph).
The spacious, open, and streamlined cabin design allows passengers’ experience to exceed that of a luxury sedan. With an advanced human-machine interface in its cockpit design from the start, the flying taxi aims to simplify vehicle operation, lower operating costs, and enhance operational safety.
The next generation, multi-redundant, core Integrated Vehicle System and power systems enable PANTALA Concept H to achieve a large-passenger-airliner level of safety. At the same time, its advanced computing power and network capability make it ready for the coming revolution in autonomy. The Chinese company has not given more details on their air taxi model at this moment.
