Segway-Ninebot presents the new two-wheeler by the name of “Ninebot KickScooter Air T15,” an electric scooter with a more modern appearance. At first glance, the group seems to have put the package on the design, perhaps at the expense of performance.
Like many of its counterparts, the Air T15 is a foldable electric scooter – this trend has since proven itself by making the machine much easier to transport. It comes with a new mechanism for easy folding in just a second. When folded, it has dimensions of 102.4 x 20.2 x 22.3 cm and can easily fit into the car trunk or placed in the back seat comfortably.
However, the performance of the e-scooter may not meet all expectations. With its 250W motor, its maximum speed is limited to 20 km/h (12.4 mph). The built-in 400 mAh Li-ion battery has a maximum per charge range of 7.5 miles (12 km) that can be fully recharged in 3.5 hours.
The easiest change to see with the naked eye is its design, with a shorter, flatter handlebar reminiscent of a bicycle and a front part that moves away from the circular tube to offer a thicker body with two metal bars.
The body of the Air T15 is made with aluminum-magnesium alloy to bring a lighter yet stronger and more reliable performance. The Air T15 weighs only 10.5 kilograms and supports a maximum load of 100 kilograms, and it can handle climbs up to 15 degrees. Besides, the body is splash-proof, corrosion-proof, and eco-friendly.
Add to that a 7.5-inch front wheel and a 6-inch rear wheel. The DIP switches on the rear fender for users to power on/off, control the light and change the riding modes. On the front, there is elegant blue lighting wrapped in a plastic cover, which adds a touch of the future. Above the lighting is a primary LED light that will illuminate you on the road in a dark environment. There is still a brake light on the rear. As you can see in the picture, it also has a futuristic design and gives the scooter another touch of futuristic aesthetics.
In the middle, between the control levers is an LCD display. The display shows important information such as battery status, driving speed, and more. The e-scooter can even be paired with a smartphone using the app. You can track scooter data in it, and you will also have access to the controls of the scooter.
The scooter also comes with a storage stand. You can put it in it whenever you don’t need it. Aesthetically, it is also perfectly designed and fits as a design accessory.
The new Segway Ninebot Air T15 is now available on Kickstarter, starting at US$569, with the shipping estimated to begin in July.
