We spend many hours a day sitting – such as in front of the TV or at a desk for work – and that is the origin of many diseases, as well as obesity. The problem increases in computer-related jobs, where you have to sit constantly. Some prefer desks where they can work standing for a much healthier working environment. But they usually come with a bulky size and some with cumbersome setup may let you go crazy.
An American team – dedicated to design & create products to help digital nomads to work better, healthier, more energized, and focused – has created MOFT Z, a truly lightweight and versatile sit-stand desk. This world’s thinnest laptop stand is designed to offer the heavy laptop user a maximum comfort with maximum freedom on location.
Designed for employees on the move, this table offers a perfect standing opportunity for everyone, thanks to its maximum height of 10 inches (25 cm). Featuring an origami-inspired Z design, the MOFT Z laptop stand provides one mode for standing and three-mode for sitting. It opens at 25°, 45°, and 60°, respectively, for use with the MacBook, like a lectern for a book or magazine or as a stand for an iPad. But the most interesting is the Standing mode, which makes it a chair for the laptop.
The accessory folds further to be raised again. In the latter form, it is possible to place the computer and use it on the feet, like a standing desk. So you can work standing up. Useful when we get tired of sitting for a long time. It can also be used on the floor for sitting in an Indian or Japanese style.
Despite its lightweight design, MOFT Z can support a surprisingly high weight: up to 10 kg. On average, a laptop weighs between 1 and 4 Kilos. Made of PU artificial leather material, it measures 23.9 x 28 x 1.27 cm. The weight is 890 grams.
Being portable, which is among the basic design features, provides great convenience. Also, the laptop stand can be folded and unfolded in seconds, without the need for any tools in setting it up or making adjustments. In this way, you can take your work table into your backpack or even under your arm.
Thanks to its folding format and low weight, MOFT Z is the first to be used anywhere. The project is currently being funded on Kickstarter, where it costs only $49 (the expected retail price is $69), and shipping will start from May 2020.
