Mercedes-Benz eScooter, an emission-free solution for last few miles

If you’ve always dreamed of adding a Mercedes-Benz to your garage, then maybe it’s time to make your dreams come true. The German firm put aside its four-wheeled creations for a while, focusing on micro-mobility and, in particular, on the development and construction of an electric scooter. The vehicle called Mercedes-Benz eScooter is a practical, zero-emission solution for those last few miles of the journey.

The eScooter, which Mercedes-Benz is launching in collaboration with Swiss micro-mobility specialists Micro Mobility Systems AG, uses high-quality components and materials that enable a mileage of over 5,000 kilometers. Also, thanks to its low weight and intuitive folding mechanism, the eScooter can be easily transported in the trunk or taken on public transport and scores top marks for range, safety, and design.

The Mercedes-Benz eScooter is intended for journeys that do not exceed 25 km, powered by a 250 W motor (500W peak), which allows it to reach the maximum speed of 20 km/h (12.4 mph). The 7.8 Ah battery recharges in around 3-3.5 hours using a standard domestic socket and reaches 70% charge in just over two hours.

The street-legal eScooter weighs around 13.5 kilograms, ensuring that users can travel not only with speed and agility but also in comfort and safety. Mounted on 8-inch wheels, this electric scooter is equipped with a front and rear suspension, it is foldable, and its handlebars are adjustable in height. Other features include a retractable steering column, centrally-mounted display, rear drum brake, and a foot brake on the protective plate, front and rear lights, and the connectivity with the Micro app.

The Mercedes-Benz eScooter connects via Bluetooth to the smartphone, which can be attached to a bracket on the handlebar that provides the driver with valuable information about speed, distance, travel time, and battery charge status. In addition, various functions such as light or driving mode of the eScooter, can be managed directly via the app. The integrated navigation system also shows the shortest route to the destination on display.

For the time being, the detailed specifications or the prices of the Mercedes-Benz eScooter have not been announced, which did not fail to place its logo on its new two-wheeled creation.
