The American company Volcon recently introduced a new two-wheeled, kid-friendly model, called the Volcon Runt. The Volcon Runt is a smaller version of the company’s first electrified off-road model, the Grunt – allowing families to join together in off-road powersports adventures.
The fully electric two-wheeled mini bike exclusively meets the needs of young children, who are crazy about two wheels and can enjoy off-road situations. Like its big brother, the Runt is easy to ride, nimble, and has safety aids to give parents peace of mind when their children ride.
The full-size Grunt can reach a top speed of 60 mph (97 km/h), while in the electric minibike, this is limited to 35 mph (56 km/h). The electric motor’s torque reaches 60 Nm, and its swappable battery offers a range of 35 miles (56 km) per charge. Recharging is possible in only two hours with any household outlet.
The Runt offers three riding modes, allowing a customized experience based on the young riders’ abilities. Besides, it comes equipped with app-driven geo-fencing controls, remote monitoring, performance limiters, and tip-over notifications, giving parents peace of mind when their kids are riding. The seat height is still 27 inches, and the bike weighs reasonably 180 pounds (82 kg).
“With the addition of the Runt, the entire family can experience off-road powersports adventures through Volcon’s two and four-wheeled models,” said Andrew Leisner, Chief Executive Officer of Volcon Inc. “The no-clutch, single-speed, electric powertrain is easier for young riders to learn, and the new app-based controls will give parents the ability to monitor their children and regulate the power of the motorcycle. The Runt paired with our Grunt will bring new families into the freedom and fun that off-road powersports provides.“
Finally, it should be noted that the Runt is available for pre-order now, with the price set at $2995, and is expected to go into production in Spring 2021. The full-size model, the Grunt, will also be delivered to customers beginning in Spring. Four-wheeled Stag and Beast models will follow in late 2021 into 2022.
