New Delfast Top 3.0 promises 320 km range, 80 km/h speed

We have spoken several times about the Ukrainian start-up Delfast, a company specializing in e-bikes with astounding specifications. Delfast’s e-bikes were never built for European roads. They are always too fast, too powerful, regardless of whether the models are Top 2.0, TopCop, or Delfast Offroad.

Now, the company presents its new e-bike – Delfast Top 3.0 – which is no exception here; it is more of an electric motorcycle than an e-bike or even a pedelec. It does have pedals, and you could move this rocket on two wheels using muscle power alone. But this function is probably more intended for people who prefer not to drive their car, but rather to push.

The Delfast e-bike weighs around 154 lbs (69.9 kg) – more than three times as much as a very well-equipped normal bike with a motor. It is even one of the most powerful in its class with its 5000W hub-type motor in the rear wheel. The motor allows it to reach 50 mph (80km/h) and a torque of 182 Nm, clearly outside the e-bike standard.

The battery also follows this trend, with a Panasonic 3200mAh battery, even more than some electric motorcycles, enough to reach 200 miles (321 km) of autonomy.

The technical equipment must obviously be in line with the specifications. So, mounted on a fully suspended frame, the Delfast Top 3.0 e-bike is fitted with a spring shock absorber, a double T fork, and 19-inch motorcycle tires. A configuration that invites you to leave the asphalt to go teasing more committed terrains. One of the main technical developments compared to the 2.0 model is the adoption of a Gates carbon belt instead of the chain. There are also many typical accessories for mopeds, such as mirrors, direction indicators, and generous fenders.

If you want, you can equip the Delfast Top 3.0 with optional accessories. These include a seat for two people or a sturdy luggage rack for attaching bags. Standard side boxes can be attached and removed very easily, and a trailer is also available, which makes the bike suitable for long trips.

According to the manufacturer, the Delfast Top 3.0 will be available from August. Pre-orders are already possible on the manufacturer’s website; a deposit of $1,000 is required. The total price is $6,800.
