Dutch superyacht builder Lynx Yachts has announced the official launch of its first 27.4-meter Crossover 27 superyacht, Avontuur. The vessel boasts numerous custom features in order to meet its American owner’s requirements.
Lynx Yachts’ Crossover 27 brings together the best of two worlds: offering the robustness, versatility, and generous storage space of a support vessel whilst still providing the comfort, elegance, and customization of a superyacht. This makes it ideal for the next generation of adventurous owners who wants to make the most of their time at sea, whether through watersports or exploration.
Avontuur’s design and layout maximize tender and toy storage to suit the needs of its outdoorsy and sporty owner whilst still retaining its stylish superyacht appearance. The vessel’s initial layout from the yard included four staterooms, comprising an owner’s cabin, a VIP cabin, and two twin cabins with the crew quarters located aft of the engine room. It also offers three guest cabins, and the crew quarters are also integrated into the guest space.
One of the core features of this superyacht is its 70-square-meter main deck, which includes a salon surrounded by large windows that let the natural light bathe the whole interior space. The main deck transforms easily into a spacious entertainment area once the toys, an Air Nautique G23 and a five-meter RIB, are launched.
Above the main salon is a sundeck, which is equipped with a crane and will house two Yamaha Waverunners and two stand-up jetskis. Additionally, the lazarette/toy storage provides ample space for watersports equipment such as stand-up paddleboards, surfboards, canoes, scuba diving equipment, and much more.
Avontuur is powered by twin Caterpillar C12.9–2 x capable of producing 850 hp at 2300 rpm engines. The Caterpillar 27 superyacht can reach a maximum speed of 14 knots (26 km/h), a cruising speed of 12.5 knots (23 km/h), and boasting an impressive eco range of 1,800 nautical miles (3,333.6 km).
“We are delighted to launch Avontuur following a fantastic and fruitful collaboration with her Californian owner. He is a seasoned and sporty yachtsman who was involved at every single level of the build, and it has been a real pleasure working together,” Slim Bouricha, Founder & Owner of Lynx Yachts, commented at the launch.
Delivery of the yacht will take place in April, after which Avontuur will make its maiden trip around the Mediterranean to enjoy the best of summer cruising before making its way to the USA at the end of the season.
