Little Sophia makes STEM, coding and AI a fun

Do you know Sophia the Robot? Well, everybody knows about this social humanoid robot developed by Hong Kong-based company Hanson Robotics. It is able to display more than 50 facial expressions. Also, Sophia became the first robot to receive citizenship of any country.

The same robotics family introduced a new member to their family called Little Sophia. She is the little sister of Sophia.

Little Sophia is just 14″ tall but will blow your mind with amazing features. It is designed basically for the kids 7-13 years old, particularly girls. She will add adventure to their life by empowering them to code and by making STEM and AI a fun.

She is analogous to her big sister Sophia in various aspects. As she can walk, talk-sing, play games and tell jokes.

They say, “We believe that Little Sophia can help to introduce STEM, coding and AI to children – especially girls – in a fun, safe, inspiring and interactive way that might help to make a small difference in reversing the current trends.”

This little educational companion for kids devised with intelligent software and includes tutorials through Hanson’s AI Academy. She will be a unique programmable and inspiring friend to children to learn through a safe, interactive, human-robot experience.

Unlike other toy robots, she delivers a high-quality, entertaining and educational experience which would motivate young children to learn through stories and they won’t get bored. Interaction with her will be humorous and to make learning easy and fun.

Just like Sophia the Robot, her younger version is also intensely curious, refreshingly innocent, and uniquely playful.

They said, “She is the only consumer robot with a human-like face who can generate a wide range of human facial expressions. She not only responds to commands but also actively engages in conversations. This unparalleled responsiveness together with her humanoid design makes Little Sophia a smart, educational companion.”

“The team behind Little Sophia is comprised of a diverse and renowned global group of engineers, scientists, roboticists, toy makers, character developers, designers, and AI experts, many of whom helped build Sophia the Robot.”
