An Italian water transportation company, Jet Capsule, has unveiled its 2021 lineup: the Jet Capsule DuePuntoZero (2.0) or LX (LX stays for length eXtra) and the Hyper jet Capsule. Its latest luxurious marine vehicle design with peculiar physical characteristics, like something out of a science fiction movie, is designed by Pierpaolo Lazzarini, an Italian designer with a passion for the automotive industry and the yachting world.
Both new models measure 9.5m long and 3.5 m wide and are available in full electric mode. Specifically developed for transportation, the Jet Capsule solution retains all its versatility. It can become a nautical platform of the future, with configurations of all kinds: from a private boat to a vessel for 20 passengers.
The structure of these watercraft is made with a mix of carbon fiber and fiberglass hull and has photochromic windows, which change their transparency in response to light intensity. The entire interior is customizable down to the smallest detail, as if it were a business plane. In the most luxurious configuration for private use, the Jet Capsule can include a small kitchen and bathroom as well as beds, luxurious extras such as mood lighting and a sundeck.
Onboard, the craft features a protected deck and seating area which in the version without toilette can accommodate up to 20 passengers plus captain, or 16 passengers in case to install a toilet and leave a space for one wheelchair, or alternatively to be used as a baggage compartment.
The new designed headlights led system offers the possibility to adjust the light intensity and inclination. The front is also equipped with a water surface scanner in order to prevent debris.
In the smallest version – currently, there are two available – it has a length of 7.85 meters, a width of 3.44, and a maximum displacement mass of 3.58 tons. The new re-designed Jet Capsule is equipped with twin Yanmar engines (with power possibilities from 740 hp up to 1880 hp hyper version) and can reach speeds up to 60 knts.
In addition, it is possible to configure the Jet Capsule with a triple electric engine set up with 450 KW of electric power (3 x 200hp). With this configuration, the vessel can operate in full electric mode with speeds up to 30 knts, docking, and sailing and maneuvering in full electric mode. A hybrid configuration is also available in the new range of Jet Capsules.
Both models are equipped with a dual 24,000 BTU air conditioning system. The Jet Capsule DuePuntoZero (2.0) is available for the price starting at $500,000, reaching up to $1 million for the hyper jet version.
