Helm showed a restomod of the iconic Jaguar E-Type

The Jaguar E-Type is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful pieces of automotive craftsmanship ever created.

Now, British company Helm Motorcars has reimagined Jaguar Series 1 E-type, which will be restored and modernized to incorporate comfort and mechanics items worthy of today’s luxury cars. This is reported by the manufacturer’s website.

First released in 1961 and originally designed by former aeronautics engineer Malcom Sayer, the Series 1 Jaguar E-type was described by Enzo Ferrari himself as “the most beautiful car ever made.” The restoration project by helm motorcars saw its founder Chedeen Battick source the finest examples of these cars across Europe and the UK and restore them with an obsessive eye for detail and deep respect for the value of British craftsmanship.

Helm Motorcars intends to combine modern technology with unrivaled design to produce a limited run of 20 Series 1 Jaguar E-Type vehicles, each of which will be tailored to the exact specifications of the owners, resulting in unique works of automotive art. The cars will never be replicated.

The Jaguar E-Type recreated by Helm will preserve the external look of the original car. The body and most parts of the car will be restored, including the bodywork, hand-crafted aluminum doors, and aircraft-grade stainless steel exhaust system.

However, technically and in terms of equipment, it will be a more modern car. In particular, it will be equipped with a modified 3.8-liter naturally aspirated Jaguar engine with a capacity of 300 hp. Besides, it features modern technology such as electronic speed-sensitive power steering, a bespoke engineered five-speed gearbox, 6 pot alloy front brakes, adjustable suspension, a heated screen. And a soft close door system that is integrated subtly without interfering with the purity and elegance of the original design.

Hand-crafted aluminum internal panels are wrapped by acclaimed leather expert Bill Amberg and his team, while beautifully executed hand-stitched detailing is available on leather toggle switches, steering wheel, and matching grab handle. Amberg has created bespoke luggage for each Helm E-type, in the form of two sets of his iconic Rocket bags, in weekend and briefcase editions.

Other options include electric power steering, air conditioning, Bluetooth audio, heated windscreen, LED lighting, and hand-crafted interior trim in semi-aniline leather and calfskin suede.
