Gulfstream’s flagship G700 has set its seventh international city-pair speed record en route to the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition in Geneva.
In a demonstration, the aircraft flew the record flight on sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and completed a trip from Savannah, Georgia, to Geneva in 7 hours and 37 minutes at an average speed of Mach 0.90 (690 mph). This is extremely close to the speed of sound but also not the aircraft’s max speed.
The Gulfstream G700 was introduced to the world back in 2019 with “the most spacious, innovative, and flexible cabin in the industry.” Powered by two Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines, the aircraft can move up to 13 passengers for a distance of up to 6,400 nautical miles (11,853 km) at a maximum speed of Mach 0.90 or up to 7,500 nautical miles (13,890 km) at the speed of Mach 0.85.
