The Taiwanese company Gogoro unveiled its latest electric scooter: Gogoro VIVA, which will also be launched worldwide by 2020.
Gogoro VIVA is a really colorful and smart electric scooter, designed to operate similarly to Gogoro’s existing scooters, but provide a smaller and more versatile design for urban mobility. The brand’s commitment to urban transport will be reinforced with this motorcycle that will try to be affordable for all budgets.
This ultra-light scooter weighs just 80 kg (176 lbs), yet provides the user with a space of 21 L to carry backpacks and other small objects.
Unlike previous Gogoro scooters, capable of reaching a speed of 80 km/h (50 mph), this new VIVA has been designed specifically for the city and therefore do not go beyond 50 km/h (31 mph), after all the small internal engine produces 3 kW of power, four hp. While Gogoro’s original scooters have two batteries, VIVA scooters carry just a single battery, which is still sufficient for around 80 km (50 mi) of range.
The main difference between this motorcycle and the others of the company is that it will only use an interchangeable battery. The Gogoro VIVA uses the battery-swapping technology to keep riders on the road instead of tethered to a charging station. The company has an impressive network of over 1,400 battery swap stations spread across the home town Taiwan.
Besides, Gogoro made the vehicle extremely customizable and personalizable. VIVA will have up to 100 easy-to-add accessories to the vehicle so that it has the characteristics desired by the customer. It can be given a more luxurious or simpler look.
The goal is to be bought by citizens who make short trips and want to go as comfortable as possible, without the demands of a large motorcycle. The VIVA also offers fluidity between the traffic.
The company hasn’t shared the bike’s other details, but it has assured that it will continue in its expansion of the international market with this novelty. The sale price of the Gogoro VIVA will be approximately $1800, much lower than the rest of the catalog.
