Genovation GXE becomes the world’s fastest electric street car

The American company Genovation has just broken a speed record with its GXE, electric version of the Chevrolet Corvette C7. Reaching 210.2 mph (338.28 kph), the coupe became the fastest road electric supercar in the world.

This GXE has done better than the electric Corvette C6 Genovation which had reached 209 mph (336.3 kph) in 2017. The performance was achieved at the Kennedy Space Center’s Shuttle Landing Facility in Florida (USA). Check out the video given below.

The Genovation GXE is powered by two twin electric motors placed under its front cover, providing 800-plus hp and 700 pound-feet (949 Nm) of torque to the rear wheels. The car has a 60-kWh battery pack that lasts for an average range of up to 130 miles (209 kilometers).

In total only 75 units of the Genovation GXE electric car, each at a modest $750,000, will be made available for the prospective customers. The first deliveries were expected by the end of this year, but they will not arrive until the beginning of 2020.

With already nine world records to its credit, Genovation does not intend to stop there! In any case, this is what the firm suggests through an announcement description of this video: “There are still many records to come.”
