Frey Bike unveiled its two high-power and high-speed e-bikes

A Jinhua, China-based Frey Bike has unveiled two high-power and high-speed e-bikes that include the EX and CC models. The bikes come under the category of a high-end electric mountain bike and electric cross-country or commuter bike.

For rough trail riding and mountain climbing EX model is designed, while for more relaxed, upright geometry as well as low standover height, the CC model is ideal. CC model is better suited for city and hybrid riding.

Both the new e-bikes have the high power Bafang M620 mid-drive motor, which often rated at 1,000W continuous and churns out 160 Nm (118 lb-ft) of torque. Also unlike most other mid-drive motors, these Bafang Ultra motors come with a hand throttle in addition to the standard pedal assist.

Both the Frey Bike models can reach the top speed of 50 km/h (31 mph), with an option for limiting the speed. A high-capacity integrated battery, with a 48V and 672 Wh battery hidden in the frame of the EX model and a larger 48V and 816 Wh in the CC model. The EX model also offers the option of a second 672 Wh battery added to the frame in a downtube-mounted pack.

RockShox suspension is used by both the e-bikes. The EX model offers up to 180 mm (7 inches) of suspension travel in the front and 160 mm (6.3 inches) in the rear, whereas the CC model offers up to 150 mm (6 inches) of suspension travel in the front and rear. Besides, both the models are incorporated with hydraulic disc brake. The EX model has Magura brakes whereas the CC model has Tektro Dorado brakes.

The EX model joins a number of high-end mountain bikes produced by Frey Bike. On the other hand, the CC model is the brand’s first commuter-style e-bike.

The latest Frey Bike models will be available for sale from next two or three months, with no words on the final pricing yet. But, the company says the CC model is going to be equivalent to the price of current AM1000 model, which currently starts at $2,300 before shipping.
