Ekso Bionics has unveiled EVO, an endurance-boosting assistive Upper Body Exoskeleton that alleviates the burden of repetitive work. The EVO Upper Body Exoskeleton is designed to reduce fatigue and shoulder and back muscle strain, with the goal of eliminating work-related injuries to the neck, shoulder, and back.
It is lighter and more flexible than its predecessor, with an optimized human-machine interface that is cool and comfortable to wear for all-day use. Its progenitor was the EksoVest model, which is used by, among others, Ford, in order to help prevent work accidents and reduce fatigue for its employees.
EVO, the next evolution of EksoVest, is quite similar to it, but is a more airy model with the same workload capacity as before, while also maintaining the ruggedness and durability that Ekso is known for. The exoskeleton offers 5 to 15 lb (2.3 to 6.8 kg) of lift assistance in each arm to elevate and alleviate the day-to-day strain on workers across all industries.
