DS is making good progress in the European and Chinese automotive market. Following the unveiling of the DS 9 premium mid-size sedan, the French car manufacturer DS is the prestigious brand of PSA that emerged from Citroën. It now comes with one more action, showing how the future of your SUVs will be with the DS Aero Sport Lounge.
The DS Aero Sport Lounge offers an elevated driving position, good all-round visibility, and first-class comfort with aerodynamic and technical efficiency as well as a unique design. According to its own statement, DS Automobiles is reinventing the concept of efficiency with the concept vehicle, without compromising on character and design. The DS Aero Sport Lounge concept car is expected at the next Geneva Motor Show.
The 5 meters long 100% electric coupe has the 500Kw (680hp) electric motor that allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h (0 to 62mph) in just 2.8 seconds. The battery of the concept car is just as interesting, with a capacity of 110 kWh, the “new generation battery” that is the result of the activities of DS in Formula E. This battery, located in the floor, gives the concept car a driving range of more than 650 km (404 miles).
Its design directs air flows to achieve the best aerodynamic efficiency, which is demonstrated by the dipping roofline, the grille with lateral aerodynamic appendages, and the large 23-inch wheels sculpted by the air.
Naturally, the DS teams have also done their best to refine the interior finish of this aesthetic manifesto. We see original materials (inlays in straw, satin cotton, fabric in microfibre based on three materials) and futuristic technology. The surface is extremely smooth due to a very fine weave, which gives it incomparable strength and softness.
DS speaks, among other things, about an intelligent, three-dimensional ultrasound (augmented gesture control) that “gives the feeling that you’re touching shapes and textures in a completely empty space.”
