UK-based startup CrownCruiser Motors has developed a retro-futuristic smart ebike to fit anyone’s taste and style. CrownCruiser blends distinct custom styling and the smartest technology to provide riders with the ultimate next-generation riding experience.
The number of retro models in the ebike market is quite high, but CrownCruiser has also managed to add a futuristic line to the process. The smart ebike rocks a head-turning carbon-fiber monocoque frame that can be customized to the rider’s desire with five colors choices – Carbon Fiber, Yellow Carbon, Bubble Gum, Smokey Grey, and Bad Ass Blue – and three unique wrap designs. Its side grills and wheel rims can also be modified with a choice of 8 rad colors.
At 25 kilograms, this e-bike is neither super light nor does it do everything to look like a normal bicycle. The manufacturer offers different strong and fast versions for different markets. In the EU and Germany, only the variant with a 250-watt rear hub motor and pedal assist up to 15.5 mph (25 km/h) is permitted. Anyone living in the US can choose the version with a 750-watt electric motor which has a peak output of 1000W, throttle grip, and a top speed of up to 31 mph (50 km/h).
The CrownCruiser smart ebike comes with swappable 36-V/11.6-Ah or 48-V/14.5-Ah battery options that offer a maximum per-charge pedal-assist range of 100 miles (160 km).
Even though the bike adopts a retro style, it packs some serious tech that includes rider recognition anti-theft defenses, GSM location tracking, integrated Bluetooth connectivity, and more. Besides, the bike comes with its own cutting-edge app available for both iOS and Android devices, which can be mounted on the carbon-fiber handlebar, letting the rider access ride-tracking data like speed and riding stats.
CrownCruiser’s robust monocoque carbon fiber frame with a lifetime warranty and Rock Shox front girder suspension with customizable lockout and damping control gives you the durability and comfort to conquer any terrain. The integrated Gyro and Accelerometer Sensor can automatically detect a sudden fall or impact, giving you the option to notify your emergency contact with a crash warning alert and pin drop to your location. The e-bike also offers wireless charging – so you will always be connected.
The CrownCruiser is currently a subject of the Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign, where the pledges start at $3,180. It has also been selected by the UK Research and Innovation Agency as the best solution for the new era of alternative transport. If all goes according to plan, the CrownCruiser could ship as soon as November 2021.
