Researchers from Monash and Osaka University, led by Associate Professor Mikaël Martino, explored how regulatory T cells (Tregs) can enhance tissue healing in regenerative medicine. Their findings, published in Nature Communications, show that Tregs improve tissue repair by switching immune cells to an anti-inflammatory state. In a mouse study, Tregs boosted bone, muscle, and skin healing.
