Astronomers have been studying Jupiter’s Great Red Spot (GRS), a massive storm large enough to fit Earth inside, for over 150 years. However, new observations from NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope reveal surprising details.
Between December 2023 and March 2024, Hubble took close-up images that showed the GRS isn’t as stable as it appears; it wobbles like jelly! These images allowed scientists to create a time-lapse movie that showcases the GRS’s wiggly movements.
