Innovative structures pave the way for advanced robotics

Researchers have made a significant advance in the field of molecular robotics.

Researchers at the University of Sydney Nano Institute have developed the nanorobots that could be used to deploy targeted cancer drugs, make futuristic materials that respond to their environments and find uses in creating energy-efficient signal processing. As a proof-of-concept, the researchers made more than 50 nanoscale objects, including a ‘nano-dinosaur’, a ‘dancing robot’ and a mini-Australia that is 150 nanometres wide, a thousand times narrower than a human hair.
