A University of Michigan study on wild capuchin monkeys in Costa Rica found that rising temperatures harm immune function, especially in younger monkeys. After just two weeks at 86°F, their nonspecific immune responses declined, revealing potential health risks from climate change. The results were unexpected, as mammals are typically thought to regulate body temperature and mitigate such stress.
