Fertility-assisted babies show higher likelihood of heart defects

A large study found that babies conceived through fertility treatments, like IVF, have a 36% higher risk of being born with severe heart defects compared to naturally conceived babies (1.84% vs. 1.15%). The risk is especially high in multiple births, which are more common with fertility treatments (2.47% for multiples vs. 1.62% for singletons). Early diagnosis is crucial.
