BMW Reveals Next-Gen iX3 With 400 kW Fast Charging and New EV Platform

Built on the Neue Klasse platform, the electric SUV pairs 800-volt charging with BMW’s new software-centric architecture.

BMW has pulled the wraps off the next-generation iX3, and it’s more than a routine EV update. The SUV rides on the company’s new Neue Klasse platform, packing an 800-volt system that can push 400 kW DC charging; enough for a 10–80% refill in about 21 minutes. Dual motors deliver around 463 hp. Inside, a sweeping Panoramic iDrive and centralized computing hint at BMW’s shift toward software-defined electric cars.
