A promising approach to prevent heart failure and reduce fibrosis

PKN triggers fibrosis,

A study from Nagoya University found that the enzyme PKN is linked to heart fibrosis, a condition where excess tissue stiffens the heart, leading to heart failure. Tests on mice without PKN1 and PKN2 showed improved heart function and less tissue buildup. Researchers believe blocking PKN could prevent fibrosis in heart failure and hope to develop PKN inhibitors as a new treatment for heart health.
