Audi teases new electrically driven off-roader of the future

It looks like Audi is putting a new twist on the self-driving car concepts. In the past few years, it has unveiled three AI concept cars so far – the Aicon sedan, PB18 grand tourer, and AI:ME hatchback.

And now, the German automaker has teased its upcoming concept vehicle, an insane-looking new electric off-roader what it calls the AI:Trail concept. Debuting at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Audi AI:Trail Quattro concept will be the final entry of four Audi electric concept vehicles.

The brand doesn’t reveal much about the electric off-roader. But they released a shadowy teaser image which looks like a very aggressive and futuristic-looking vehicle. There is set of chunky off-road tires and the body sits pretty high off the ground, which is suitable for rough terrains. The main set of doors appear hinged in the middle in a more untraditional fashion and the angular but curved shaped windows are there to soften the look. Also, the taillight design mimics the look from previous AI concepts.

Well, we’ll have to wait until the car’s debut for more information. Like Audi, Hyundai also teased its new fully-electric model that is scheduled for a debut during Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
