As of June 17, 2018, there have been only 561 brave humans who have seen the world through space. It is expected that the first private lunar trip could be launched by 2023, however, it will again take years of technical preparation and a fortune to go.

But in the era of a technology explosion, you need not wait for so long to travel the space. It is as easy as you take a sip of coffee.

The winner of the CES 2019 Innovation awards in Augmented Reality, AstroReality, has designed and created the first AR-enabled Space Mug. Through this mug you can experience the view of an astronaut suspended in the spaceship cabin, using an AstroReality Explorer app.

When you look into this cup you are actually looking at the blue planet from an astronaut’s view. You can see the Amazon Rainforest, the Vatnajokull National Park in Iceland, the Himalayas, the Grand Canyon in the United States and many more.

From where they extracted the data, “We have prepared a landscape of 500 million square kilometers of Earth. The data comes from NASA and USGS high-definition satellite photos, covering the entire surface of the Earth.”

The places you can see includes “All the stunning natural scenery, more than 200 countries and regions, and the fascinating beauty of more than 10,000 cities will slowly pass in front of your eyes.”

They said, “With the same dreams and curiosity as “Creating the Moon”, our Space Mug with AR-enabled technology, makes it possible for you to experience space travel without leaving the Earth. No matter where you are, you can travel around the Earth with the mug in your hand and enjoy the best view in the world.”

This mug is 70mm wide and 120mm tall. Drawn sort simple hexagonal lines on it, present the contours of the future spaceship. Its ergonomic design makes it comfortable to hold and perfect piece of decor. Ceramic is the material used to give it a pure white finish to unearth infinite possibilities.

A team explained, “In order to find the best light transmission, we constantly adjusted the thickness of the wall, which reflects the layering of light under the illumination.”

“Inspired by the snow-white color, the sleek lines and the bird’s eye view of Earth, we have named this product Cygnus, after the constellation of the swan.”

The interior of the cup is transformed into the cabin of a future spacecraft, and the cabin structure inside the mug is presented by AR technology.

Now, just look into the mug and wander around the space and imaginations.
