At the CES 2020 Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Acer unveiled the B250i compact, portable LED projector, which enables full HD imaging. With the B250i, Acer wants to offer a projector that is particularly easy to use, which, according to the manufacturer, is also and specially designed for mobile use. At the same time, the B250i promises high quality for both image and audio output, making it unnecessary to take external speakers with you.
The device is enclosed in a case with dimensions of 205 × 204 × 78 mm. The weight is just 1,450 grams. The resolution of the projection is 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, and the lifespan of the LED module is estimated by the manufacturer to be up to 30,000 hours.
It features up to 1,000 ANSI lumens brightness, a 5,000:1 contrast ratio, and supports a wide color gamut of 120% of the Rec. 709 color space. Acer emphasizes the straightforwardness of the B250i: the autofocus should make the setup much easier, image content can be accessed by both iOS and Android devices using the provided Wi-Fi adapter.
Acer especially highlights the presence of a high-quality audio system with two 5W speakers, Waves Maxx Audio and Acer TrueHarmony. HDMI and USB Type-A and USB Type C are also installed, whereby the Type C connection is used for transferring image material, as well as for charging.
The Acer B250i compact projector will go on sale in April at an estimated price of US $700 (in North America). Exact specifications, prices, and availability will vary by region.
